Academic Council

The Academic Council is a permanent expert advisory body to the Institute of Medical Psychology, Psycho-Oncology and Psychosomatics, which supports the development of the organisation’s scientific, educational and expert activities.

The Council brings together established scientists, university lecturers, clinical specialists and experts from various professional fields who contribute to maintaining high academic, professional and ethical standards across all activities of the Institute.

Its main mission is to ensure that the Institute’s educational programmes, scientific initiatives and professional training courses meet contemporary international standards and are based on evidence, good practice and academic independence.

Academic standards

The Academic Council determines the principles and standards for developing and delivering the training programmes, qualification courses, specialisations and continuing professional development programmes organised by the Institute.

Scientific activity

The Council supports the development of research activity through the evaluation of scientific projects, participation in defining the Institute’s scientific priorities, and the promotion of international scientific cooperation.

Expert review

The Academic Council carries out scientific and professional review of publications, training materials, methodological guides, clinical protocols, electronic resources and other expert materials produced under the auspices of the Institute.

Certification programmes

The Council develops the criteria for the certification of training and qualification programmes, sets the minimum requirements for lecturers and trainees, and monitors compliance with the established quality standards.

Academic quality

The Academic Council carries out periodic evaluation of the content, methodology and effectiveness of the training programmes, proposing measures for their development and updating in line with advances in science and professional practice.

Development of teaching capacity

The Council supports the selection and development of lecturers, speakers, supervisors and trainers involved in the Institute’s activities, and encourages the exchange of knowledge between the academic and clinical communities.

International cooperation

The Academic Council assists in building partnerships with universities, research institutes, professional organisations and international networks with a view to developing joint scientific, educational and innovative projects.

Independence and expertise

The Academic Council carries out its activities independently and without interference in the operational management of the Institute. Its role is advisory and expert in nature, and through its recommendations it supports the Director and the Management Board in making decisions related to academic policy, scientific development and the quality of educational activities.
