Prof. Orlin Todorov is a psychotherapist and professor of public health with over 20 years of experience in the field of psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. He is among the first generation of Bulgarian psychoanalysts qualified according to the requirements of the International Psychoanalytical Association.
His clinical experience encompasses work with a broad spectrum of mental states and different levels of psychic functioning, including anxious, borderline, narcissistic and psychotic functioning. He has long-standing expertise in psychotherapeutic work with addictions, as well as with people with dual and multiple mental disorders.
A significant part of his professional work is devoted to the application of psychoanalytic thinking with children, adolescents and young people facing difficulties in psychic development, maturation and identity formation.
As a senior psychotherapist, consultant and supervisor of treatment teams, Prof. Todorov has developed expertise in the comprehensive care of mental health and in working with cases that require the integration of different professional and theoretical perspectives.

Prof. Todorov combines clinical practice with teaching, research and authorship. His professional interests are directed both towards individual psychic functioning and the psychotherapeutic process, as well as towards the broader questions of the organisation and quality of mental health care.
He is the author of books, edited volumes and scientific publications in the field of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy, among which “Understanding and Interpretation in Psychoanalysis”, “Psychoanalysis. Fragments of a Thematic Introduction” and “Psychoanalysis in Bulgaria Here and Now”.
